that saving a single life is like saving an entire world. It is
therefore not surprising that

News for 46,000,000 Atopic Dermatitis Patients Worldwide There are 46 million patients worldwide known to be affected with Atopic Dermatitis (AD), a common chronic inflammatory skin condition. Prolonged itching, a symptom of AD, can lead to reduced attention, sleep deprivation and scratching, impairing the patient's quality of life. Following Foamix's successful development of a non-steroidal absorption maximizing foam, the company signed an agreement with Ferndale Labs Inc. under which Ferndale will develop and commercialize the foam for the treatment of AD and eczema. |

Founded
in 2004, EarlySense is the developer of a pioneering patient
monitoring and signal-processing technology designed to advance
proactive healthcare and enable better patient outcomes. The company’s
flagship product, EverOn™,
is a contact-free system that measures heart and respiration rates
as well as bed entries and exits, patient motion and quality of
sleep. It does so through a sensor which is placed under the
mattress or mattress cover. There are no leads or cuffs to connect
to the patient, who has complete freedom of movement and need not
suffer from any irritating attachments. |

A Promising Step in Cancer Research The struggle to cure cancer necessitates overcoming an enormous obstacle. Only 8% of anti-cancer compounds are both soluble and bioavailable to the target organ. At the Weizmann Institute, Dr. Fortune Kohen and her staff faced this very problem. A compound they had been studying was only soluble in acetone, a highly toxic solvent, destroying chances of a successful in-vivo experiment. They were introduced to Do-Coop's nanoparticle-doped water, Neowater. Studies on MLS tumor-baring mice showed effective solubilization of the drug by Neowater, functionality and specificity in targeting the tumor. Neowater has been shown to have a significant impact on the efficacy of anti-cancer compounds in in-vivo tests, and may prove valuable in the battle to cure cancer. |
